n 2006, I gave an angel painting to a friend who was battling cancer. Upon receiving the angel, she immediately wept because it gave her hope and a sense of peace.
I then launched a website for individuals wanting to anonymously nominate friends/family who they felt could use an angel. I accept nominations until 2 days before Thanksgiving.
I then read every nomination story. Some stories are truly heart breaking and some are uplifting but all of the stories remind me that we all need an angel.
Be The Angel is an entirely self-funded mission. Every year, the number of nominations I receive increases, and the nominations come from every corner of the United States. As the nominations grow, I desire to grow the number of angels I am able to send to those in need.
All the money I receive is used for canvas, paints, brushes, varnish, packing supplies, shipping and hands-on help.
